A classic fusion belly dance drills and combos mini-series. Each week will have a specific highlight with an in-depth exploration of muscle isolation and variations that will be built into a repeating dance combination. Classes will end with a brief practice of self-expression through improvisation and/or the development of mini-combos with the option to share with the group.
*This class requires some foundation of belly dance OR a foundation in an isolation-focused dance (e.g., Jazz, Hip Hop, Latin dances, etc.).

Contemporary Fusion Belly Dance
Join Heather for a class highlighting her signature style combining Belly Dance (a MENAHT [Middle Eastern, North African, Hellenic & Turkish] rooted dance form) with Modern, Ballet & Hip Hop. Class will focus on posture, technique, developing lines, body awareness, fluidity, balance and strength. Combinations and choreography will be used to more deeply connect with expression in dance. Elements of improvisation will also be incorporated to explore our voice as dancers. 1-2 years of dance experience recommended.
Beginner Belly Dance
All about the basics! This class focuses on the foundations of belly dance technique. Each class will highlight and practice the posture, isolations, rhythms, and history rooted in this MENAHT (Middle Eastern, North African, Hellenic, & Turkish) dance form. No experience necessary! Bring a scarf to wear around your hips!
